Carrie Underwood ‘confident’ American Idol won’t affect marriage despite issues

Carrie Underwood is not worried her new job on American Idol will cause her marriage to her husband Mike Fisher to break down, sources claim.
The country singer, 41, is understood to be relishing the prospect of serving as a judge on the ABC singing competition as a replacement for Katy Perry.

Those close to the musician, who is set to be the first  person to be both a judge and performer on the show, are sure cracks will not appear in her relationship with her husband, Mike Fisher, who she married in 2010.
They also said Carrie will be at the couple’s main home in Nashville spending “every spare moment” she has with Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5, while she is in Los Angeles filming.
A person close to the singer, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Star Magazine: “Carrie swears they can handle the long distance. Their friends worry about how they’re going to keep it together.
“Kids need structure so for the most part they’ll stay at home while Carrie’s traveling. Long distance is always a challenge, but Carrie says their faith in marriage and in God is stronger than anything. She wishes people would stop worrying.”
It was previously reported by OK! Magazine that the “Before He Cheats” hitmaker’s flourishing career caused her to spend a significant portion of last year on tour and put the couple’s relationship under strain.
A source said: “They had their share of struggles behind closed doors, specifically when Mike was still playing hockey and they were having a hard time balancing their careers and home life. But there were still rough patches after his [2018] retirement, too. When they feel frustrated with each other or like they aren’t as connected as they could be, they make it a point to slow down, prioritize their marriage and meet in the middle.”

Carrie previously heaped praise on Mike, a former professional ice hockey player, for being supportive to their kids,
She said: “Mike as a dad is just super involved in our boys’ lives, very hands on. It takes a team, definitely, to be able to support my crazy life and Mike’s always running around doing a lot of charity things and he’s always meeting with people and he’s on different boards and stuff like that. So we’re very much switching off duties as far as taking boys here and there to school and sports and to all the extracurricular activities,” the blonde beauty shared in a 2023 interview.”
Carrie previously won season four of the show and is excited to return said she hopes to bring her own experiences of auditioning to her new role as a judge on the show.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s Music Row Happy Hour inside Resorts World Las Vegas, Carrie revealed her unique qualities she’ll bring to being a judge on American Idol.
She explained: “I think I can be honest and constructive, but still kind. I think that’s the whole point ’cause people are coming in, and you know … it’s dreams.”
